Zoo will return to CBS for a second season. The news broke on Friday morning that the network had decided to bring back the drama for a season set to air next summer. The series stars James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Nora Arnezeder and Billy Burke.
In a statement shared by Variety, Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment, spoke about the show’s renewal.
“Zoo’s thrilling stories clicked with audiences each week during a very competitive summer. We’re excited for viewers to see where our talented writers and cast take them as the adventure continues to unfold during season two in the ultimate fight of man vs. beast.”
The series is based on the book by James Patterson, and he also executive produces the series.
During season one, fans saw the group of five try to solve the mystery behind the animals of the world turning aggressive. Once the reason was found, they did their best to try and fix the problem. The Zoo finale ended with four members of the group facing down a herd of beasts before a stampede began.
