The 100: Season Five Ratings

The 100 TV show on The CW: season 5 ratings (canceled renewed season 6?); The 100 season five key art poster

Although it was off the air so long that it felt like The 100 TV show had been cancelled, now it’s back for a fifth season on The CW. Like last year, the littlest network decided to hold the post-apocalyptic action series for mid-season. How will it do this time out — well enough to justify another installment? Will The 100 be cancelled or renewed for season six? Stay tuned.

A dystopian CW sci-fi drama, The 100 stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Henry Ian Cusick, and Tasya Teles. The story centers on a post-apocalyptic group of survivors, who believe their people are all that is left of mankind. When they return to Earth, they realize they aren’t the only ones. **Status update below.

Season five kicks off six years after the season four finale, with our heroes still separated. While Bellamy’s (Morely) team is in space, Clarke (Taylor) is on the ground, and hundreds are trapped in the bunker below. When a prison ship descends upon the last habitable spot on the planet, The 100 must unite to reclaim their home. Expect alliances to shift as war threatens to wipe out the remnants of humanity.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

8/8 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The fourth season of The 100 on The CW averaged a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 955,000 total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
