Telly’s Take

For the last couple of years, ABC has really expanded its primetime game show offerings, particularly in the summertime. While it is still a bit early to use the ratings to predict whether The $100,000 Pyramid will be cancelled or renewed for season three, I suspect we will see another season of it. Game shows are cheaper to produce than scripted fare. They also require less commitment from the audience, which is ideal for summertime, when people take vacations and generally spend less time in front of the TV.
8/6/17 update: ABC has renewed The $100,000 Pyramid for a third season. Details here.
