After decades on the air, this ABC series has become a staple of the Sunday night schedule. Also, despite the fact that viewers can find endless amateur comedy clips online, this venerable show typically outperforms other unscripted series on the network. A comedy series, America’s Funniest Home Videos is the channel‘s longest-running primetime entertainment show and is currently hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro. For the series, regular people submit comic clips that capture the funny things that happen when people and animals are at their spontaneous best. The studio audience decides which clips they like the best and the winners are awarded cash and other prizes. Previous show hosts have included Tom Bergeron, D.L. Hughley, and Richard Kind, John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes, and the original host, Bob Saget.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: Season 31 of America’s Funniest Home Videos on ABC averaged a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.93 million viewers.
