On Arrow, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was shipwrecked on a remote island in the South China Sea and presumed dead for five years. He returned home a changed man, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. Other characters in season five are played by Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland, David Ramsey, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, Echo Kellum, Josh Segarra, John Barrowman, and Colton Haynes.
The season five ratings for Arrow have seen a significant drop this season, currently averaging a 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.04 million viewers. That’s down by nearly 22% in the demo and down by 18% in viewers.
Still, Arrow remains one of the most popular shows on The CW network and connects to their three other superhero shows. It’s no surprise that the series have been renewed for season six.
The next original episode of season five airs on January 25th.
The CW also renewed six other TV shows today — Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (season three), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (season three), The Flash (season four), Jane the Virgin (season four), Supergirl (season three), and Supernatural (season 13).
We already know that Reign and The Vampire Diaries are ending this season. No Tomorrow and Frequency are expected to be cancelled and The Originals’ future will likely be decided once the ratings come in for the upcoming fourth season, starting in March.
