Telly’s Take
Although the already low-rated Baskets TV show has not made a strong showing in its second season, FX chose to renew it for a third season. It could have easily been cancelled last season. I think the FX executives are keeping on the air because of Louis CK’s and Galifianakis’ involvement. The fact that Anderson won an Emmy Award for playing the mom didn’t hurt either. Also, indifferent to my growing hunger, FX usually seems willing to nurture shows, even when their ratings are anemic. Still, I’ll keep an eye on the ratings and report back, periodically. After all, even renewals can be cancelled.
Update: Baskets season three premieres on January 23, 2018 at 10:00pm. Details here.
