Better Call Saul: Season Four; Overlap with Breaking Bad to Get Bigger and Bigger

Better Call Saul TV show on AMC: season 3 release date (canceled or renewed?)

What can fans expect from the new season of Better Call Saul? Recently, creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the AMC TV show’s upcoming fourth season.

A prequel to Breaking BadBetter Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, a down-on-his-luck lawyer trying to negotiate the ethical dilemmas of the legal world, emerge from his older brother’s shadow, and make a name for himself. The cast also includes Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean, Patrick Fabian, Rhea Seehorn, Michael Mando, and Giancarlo Esposito.

In the interview, Gilligan revealed season four of Better Call Saul begins to overlap more with Breaking Bad:

Season four is so good. It gets darker, it gets richer. It’s still got funny in it, but on the Venn diagram of Breaking Badand Better Call Saul, the overlap in the center is getting bigger and bigger.”

Gould even teased the appearance of a “very important character”:

There is a very important character — I’m not promising you ever saw this character, but there was a very important character nonetheless from the Breaking Bad era who we’re going to meet this year. You’re going to be impressed with him.”

Season four of Better Call Saul debuts on AMC on August 6th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
