BrandX with Russell Brand: FX Orders Seven More Episodes

The existing six episodes will finish airing next Thursday night. The new installments are expected to start airing in October, paired with the fourth season of comedy The League.

BEVERLY HILLS, July 28, 2012 – FX is ordering more installments of its late night half-hour comedy series BrandX with Russell Brand, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks.

The network today picked up seven additional episodes of the BrandX, which will return in October behind all new episodes of The League. The final installment of the show’s initial six-episode order airs next Thursday, August 2 at 11:00PM.

Landgraf said, “Russell Brand is an extraordinary comedic talent – inventive, ambitious and fearless – and we are thrilled to continue our association with him, as well as his partners Troy Miller and Nik Linnen.”

BrandX features Brand’s unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture. The format draws heavily on Brand’s interaction with that audience. The series is produced by FX Productions in association with Branded Films and Dakota Films. Executive Producers are Russell Brand, Troy Miller and Nik Linnen. Miller also serves as Director of the series.

FX Productions co-produces the award winning hit drama series Sons of Anarchy, and critically acclaimed hit drama series Justified. FXP produces the critically acclaimed hit comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Louie, Archer, Wilfred, Legit (January 2013), and the late night comedies BrandX with Russell Brand and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell (August 2012).
