It wasn’t a positive start for season two. The sitcom lost 43% of its demo lead-in from New Girl and, compared to last year’s series premiere, Breaking In was down by 51% in the demo (vs a 3.5) and down by 63% in total viewers (vs 9.82 million). It’s important to remember however that last season’s debut had American Idol as a lead-in. On the positive side, this season opener did improve over the last episode of season one (a 1.3 in the demo).

Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.04 million viewers.

These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
