What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Joel McKinnon Miller, and Dirk Blocker. The sitcom follows Detective Jake Peralta (Samberg) and the rest of the unique detectives and officers at the NYPD’s 99th Precinct.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine averaged a 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic and drawing an average audience of 1.76 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 14% in and down by 17%, respectively. Find out how Brooklyn Nine-Nine stacks up against other FOX TV shows.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been cancelled by FOX but was picked up for season six by NBC. It will debut January 10, 2019. Stay tuned for updates.
Telly’s Take
The ratings have been no friend to this comedy over the past couple of seasons. Since the fifth season will leave it with a great sized syndication package, will FOX cancel or renew Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a sixth season? It’s still too early to use the ratings to predict that, so I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Flying blind, I suspect this will be the final season for Brooklyn Nine-Nine or, that FOX will bring it back for one last season.
