As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Catch-22 is renewed or cancelled (this is a mini-series so a second season is unlikely but not impossible). A Hulu military bureaucracy satire based on the Joseph Heller novel, Catch-22 stars Christopher Abbott, Kyle Chandler, George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Giancarlo Giannini, Austin Stowell, Gerran Howell, Pico Alexander, Jay Paulson, Julie Ann Emery, Grant Heslov and Jon Rudnitsky. The series centers on centers on John Yossarian (Abbott), a US bombardier in World War II. Every time “YoYo” nears his quota of completed missions, the brass raises it. When he pleads with Doc Daneeka (Heslov) to declare him unfit for duty, it falls to the medic to explain the infamous “Catch-22.” Only a crazy person would fly these deadly missions, but if a man is afraid for his safety in the face of danger and puts in for a discharge, he is declared sane.
