Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise shows no signs of slowing down. Today, it was revealed that NBC had renewed Chicago Med for a third season.
The medical drama is set at Chicago’s new state-of-the-art trauma center and revolves around the doctors, nurses, and staff members who treat the most severe trauma cases. The cast includes Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Brian Tee, Torrey DeVitto, Rachel DiPillo, and Marlyne Barrett.
Chicago Med has been a steady performer for NBC over the past two seasons. Despite a drop in ratings, season two averaged a decent 1.24 in the 18-49 demo and 6.65 million viewers, making it one of the network’s most-watched series for the 2016-2017 season.
Sister series Chicago Fire and Chicago PD were also renewed today but there’s no word on Chicago Justice yet.
