Child Support: Season Two Ratings

Child Support TV show on ABC: season 2 ratings (canceled or renewed season 3?)

After a short freshman season of lackluster ratings, it was something of a surprise the Child Support TV show wasn’t cancelled by ABC. Now that the unusual game show is back for a second season, can it build up its audience and secure its place on the Alphabet Network‘s TGIF lineup? Will Child Support be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

Fred Savage, who came to fame as one of TV’s most endearing kids on The Wonder Years hosts Child Support, which was created by Ricky Gervais. Adult players have to answer ten questions correctly, in order to win the top prize of $200,000. When the grownups give the wrong answer, that’s when five cute and funny kids ride to the rescue. Gervais has asked the children the same thing. If they are able to supply the correct response, their support saves the adults.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
