Covert Affairs: Cancel or Renew for Season Six?

Covert Affairs: cancelled or renewed for season 6?Tonight, USA Network airs the series finale of White Collar and fans could also be seeing the end of Covert Affairs as well. The latter series hasn’t been renewed for a sixth season yet and the show’s dropped way down in the ratings.

On Covert Affairs, operatives Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) and Auggie Anderson (Chris Gorham) work together in the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division (DPD). The show’s cast also includes Kari Matchett, Peter Gallagher, Hill Harper, and Nicholas Bishop.

The fourth season of Covert Affairs averaged 2.27 million viewers with a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The current season has been averaging 1.53 million and a 0.3 ratings — a drop of 49% in viewership. It’s USA’s lowest-rated scripted series in the demo.

At this point, it seems likely that USA will renew the show for a sixth and final season, perhaps a short one, to wrap things up. If the cable channel does bring it back, the show may look very different. TV Guide teases that tonight’s finale will feature a death of one character and close calls for some others. This will lead multiple people to making some life-changing decisions.

What do you think? Would you like to see Covert Affairs return for a sixth season or is it time for USA to cancel it?

UPDATE: USA has decided to cancel Covert Affairs after five seasons.
