Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Season Two Renewal for CW TV Show

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend TV show on The CW: season 2There’s a lot more crazy on the way. The CW has renewed their low-rated musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for a second season for the 2016-17 network television season.

On the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend series, Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) was dumped by Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) back in high school because he felt she was over dramatic and a little bit crazy. Some 10 years later, the two run into each other in New York and Rebecca’s feelings for Josh are rekindled. He’s moving to California and she decides to do the same. Has anything really changed? The rest of the cast includes Santino Fontana, Donna Lynne Champlin, Pete Gardner, and Vella Lovell.

So far, the series has averaged a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 892,000 viewers. It is the lowest-rated CW series of the season in both categories. However, it has been popular with some critics and Bloom won a Golden Globe earlier this year for the role.

The other series renewed today by The CW are The 100, The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Originals, Jane the Virgin, iZombie, Reign, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries.

What do you think? Do you like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? Are you surprised that it’s been renewed for a second season? Should it have been cancelled instead?
