Criminal Minds is returning to the small screen. Paramount+ has revived the crime drama two years after CBS cancelled the series, per Deadline. Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, and Paget Brewster are returning to star in the series along with executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer working behind the scenes.
Back in February, it was revealed that the series was getting close to being revived. All that needed to be done at that time was to solidify the cast returns.
Matthew Gray Gubler won’t be returning as he has indicated that, after 15 years in the role of Spencer Reid, he is ready to move on. Daniel Henney is filming in The Wheel Of Time for Prime Video so he isn’t able to return as a regular. However, there is a possibility that Henney could guest in the revival if his schedule allows.
Criminal Minds aired for 15 seasons on CBS, and it follows the elite Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. The new season will find the characters investigating one case over the course of the 10 episodes.
Mantegna teased the return of the series on social media.
