It sounds like Dancing with the Stars is losing another from their team. Host Tyra Banks revealed her plans to depart from the Disney+ series when she was caught out and about by TMZ. Banks joined the dancing competition series in 2020, when it was still on ABC, and has hosted for three seasons.
According to Banks, she plans to focus on her business endeavors. She recently released her SMiZE & Dream ice cream brand internationally and wants to bring it to the US. She said the following:
“I feel it’s time for me to really focus on my business and my entrepreneurship, and also producing more TV — but behind the scenes. I think it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor… from the ballroom to the boardroom.”
Her announcement comes only days after Mark Ballas revealed he was hanging up his dancing shoes. Len Goodman announced his exit from the judging panel in November.
Dancing with the Stars will return for its 32nd season on Disney+ this fall. A premiere date will be announced later. It’s unclear if Banks will be part of it. She and Alfonso Ribeiro (America’s Funniest Home Videos) hosted together.
What do you think? Are you surprised by Banks’ announcement? Do you plan to watch season 32 of DWTS this fall?
