Over the last couple of seasons, Syfy has branched out to include other “genre” programming which isn’t strictly of the science-fiction genre. The cable network’s latest addition is the Deadly Class TV show. Based on the Image Comics graphic novel by writer Rick Remender and illustrator Wes Craig, does it have enough of a built-in audience, and that special Syfy something, to make the grade in the Nielsen ratings? Will Deadly Class be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A Syfy coming-of-age thriller Deadly Class stars Benjamin Wadsworth, Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval. Set in the counterculture of the 1980s, the drama centers on Marcus Lopez Arguello (Wadsworth), a street kid who is recruited into Kings Dominion, a private academy. The twist is, this elite school is the top choice among the world’s premier crime families.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
