American viewers won’t see the end of Downton Abbey until 2016, but the end is nigh in Britain. Today, ITV has released some details for the final episode of the series, the Christmas special.
ITV aired the final episode of the series’ sixth and final season last week. Spoilers ahead!
The last episode of Downton Abbey will take place on New Year’s Eve 1925. There, the Crawley family, along with their servants, will welcome guest star Patricia Hodge in addition to recurring stars Lily James and Matt Barber as Lady Rose and Atticus Aldridge.
The finale episode will air in the UK on ITV on Christmas Day.
The sixth season of Downton Abbey will air in America on PBS beginning January 3rd.
