Empire: Season Four Renewal for FOX Series

Empire TV show on FOX: season 4 renewal (canceled or renewed?)

Here’s something to sing about. FOX has renewed its Empire TV show for a fourth season. According to Deadline, the network announced the news at its TCA executive session. A music business drama, Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Serayah, Bre-Z, Xzibit, and Morocco Omari.

While the series is currently on mid-season hiatus, Empire season 3B premieres on FOX March 22nd. Creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong executive produce with showrunner Ilene Chaiken, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, and Sanaa Hamri.

Empire Season Three Ratings  

So far, in its third season, Empire is averaging a 3.19 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and is drawing an average total audience of 8.665 million viewers. While those numbers are down 27.88% and 24.41% respectively in comparison to last year, Empire is still the top FOX show, in terms of both ratings measurements.

In addition, the news outlet reports, “Empire also commands Fox’s largest Total Multi-Platform audience, averaging almost 16 million Total Viewers for the 2016/17 broadcast season, up +82% from its Live + Same Day delivery.”
