Five members of the cast of Friends will reunite next month to honor James Burrows during an NBC special, and one member of the cast is now speaking out about the special and reuniting with his former co-stars.
David Schwimmer starred as Ross Geller on the NBC comedy, and he is excited to see his friends again and honor the work of James Burrows.
According to Us Magazine, Schwimmer said:
“I have no idea of what’s expected of us — I honestly don’t. I’m flying in that day, so I’m just showing up. From what I’ve been told from Sean Hayes, we’re all going to come up on stage and talk about Jim and give him a hug. I just want to be in the room when he’s honored because this man has contributed so, so greatly to our country’s enjoyment of television over the last 40, 50 years. It’s lovely that there’s an event that honors him. There are so many people that love him and whose careers were defined by him.”
As TV Series Finale previously reported, Matthew Perry will not appear on the NBC special. Schwimmer spoke about that with E! Online.
“I wish I could say it was going to be a reunion. [It’s a] 5/6 reunion. Sure I’m sad, but I’m happy for him, he’s doing a play in London and it’s thrilling. I did one there and it was fantastic.”
David Schwimmer is returning to small screen in American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson. Are you excited for the mini-cast reunion of Friends? Tell us what you think.
