Future Man: Eliza Coupe Cast in Seth Rogen’s Hulu Pilot

hulu new TV series

Eliza Coupe has been cast in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Future Man TV series pilot for Hulu. Coupe starred in Benched, which was cancelled by USA Network after one season, as well as Happy Endings, which ABC cancelled after its third season season.

In Future Man, Coupe takes the female lead role of Tiger, opposite The Hunger Games‘ Josh Hutcherson, who was cast as the Josh Futterman character, last week. If ordered to series, Future Man will be Hutcherson’s first regular TV series role. Future Man is written by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. Matthew Tolmach is executive producing with Rogen and Goldberg. That duo will also direct.

In Future Man, the Futterman character is a janitor and an accomplished gamer. He plays “Cybergeddon,” and his character in that futuristic game is called Future Man. After Futterman has mastered the final level, characters from the game inform him it is actually not a game, but a tutorial. Now it is up to him to travel back in time and save the world.

Here’s how Deadline describes Coupe’s character:

Coupe will play futuristic soldier Tiger, a sexy, tough and intense character in the Cybergeddon video game, who, along with her cohort Wolf, recruits Josh to travel back in time to save the world from the hellish landscape she left behind. However, she’s hiding a secret that could unravel everything.
