Get ready for more “Mad Man.” Sam Lerner has been upped to a series regular for the fifth season of The Goldbergs TV show on ABC. His name was included with the main cast, in ABC’s lead sheet for The Goldbergs, season five.
Lerner’s character, Geoff Schwartz, is one of Barry’s (Troy Gentile) best friends, and is sweet on Erica (Hayley Orrantia). The Goldbergs also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Patton Oswalt (narrator), and Sean Giambrone, with George Segal and Jeff Garlin. Fans don’t have to worry about The Goldbergs being cancelled anytime too soon. Back in May of 2017, ABC renewed it for season five and season six.

The VCR-loving, mixtape-making, spandex-wearing Goldbergs are back! For geeky and movie-obsessed youngest child Adam (Sean Giambrone), his wonder years were spent documenting the hilarious and awkward antics of his colorful family. Mom Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is at her best when she’s meddling, matchmaking and bedazzling her way through life, while Dad Murray (Jeff Garlin) parents from the comfort of his recliner in his underpants.Oldest sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) faces the challenges of college life, while middle child Barry (Troy Gentile) is trying to have the most epic senior year now that his girlfriend, Lainey, has left for college. Rounding out the brood is beloved grandfather Al “Pops” Solomon (George Segal), the wild man of the clan, a shameless Don Juan who enjoys family time with his grandkids almost as much as his weekly massages. This season finds the siblings fighting off huggies, snuggies and nubbies, as they navigate what it means to grow up as a Goldberg.
