Another stellar week for ted and the gang with a 4.5 in the demo and 10.5 million viewers. That was down 14% in the demo from episode two but was still one of the best showings in its history. It’ll be interesting to see what happens once interest in the new Two and a Half Men starts to die down.
Season average: 4.8 in the demo and 11.24 million.
Episode 07-02: Monday, 9/19/11
The second installment of the night did even better than the first, no doubt benefiting heavily from the big Two and a Half Men premiere at 9pm. Episode two registered a 5.2 in the demo with 12.22 million viewers, the show’s best ratings in its seven year history.

CBS gave us a double dose for the season premiere. The first installment attracted a 4.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11 million viewers. That was easily the sitcom’s best premiere and improved over last season’s by 31% in the demo (3.6) and 25% in total viewers (8.79 million).
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.65 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
