iZombie: Season Four Renewal for CW TV Show

iZombie TV show on The CW: (canceled or renewed?)

Despite what its title might suggest, iZombie is far from dead. Today it was revealed that The CW had renewed the TV series for a fourth season.

The dramedy revolves around an over-achieving medical resident (Rose McIver) who ends up as a zombie and helps solve murders. The cast also includes Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, and David Anders.

The renewal comes as a little bit of a surprise given how low ratings have been for season three of iZombie. Currently, the season is averaging a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 905,000 viewers. For comparison, season two averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 and 1.330 million viewers. That means ratings are down by 39% and viewership has dipped by nearly 32%. Still, history has shown that The CW is less of a slave to traditional ratings as the other broadcast networks.

Nevertheless, The CW has decided to give iZombie another chance. This might have to do with the creators’ long-term plans for the series. Earlier, executive producer Rob Thomas revealed he already has plans for a fourth season of the TV show.

Season three is set to wrap on June 27th.

What do you think? Do you watch iZombie? Are you glad it’s been renewed for a fourth season?
