We’ll leave it to you to decide if it went out with a whimper or a bang, but Netflix has cancelled Maria Bamford’s Lady Dynamite TV show. The decision to pass on a third season renewal comes about two months after the second season dropped to Netflix, on November 10, 2017.
A loosely autobiographical Netflix comedy, Lady Dynamite stars Bamford, Ana Gasteyer, Fred Melamed, Mary Kay Place, Mo Collins, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Bridget Everett, Lennon Parham, Yimmy Yin, Dean Cain, and Ed Begley, Jr. Inspired by Bamford’s experiences, Netflix describes Lady Dynamite as, “…the story of a woman who loses — and then finds — her s**t.” Set in Los Angeles, the sitcom takes an oft surreal look at several different periods in the actor and standup comic’s life.
Deadline has confirmed the Lady Dynamite cancellation.
