Will The Last Man on Earth last for a fourth season? The FOX TV show is nearing the end of its third season, but its chances of a renewal are still very uncertain. What do you think? Should the series be cancelled or renewed?
The comedy follows Phil Miller (Will Forte), a man who believes he is the last human on Earth after a deadly virus has devastated the planet. The cast also includes Kristen Schaal, January Jones, Mel Rodriguez, Mary Steenburgen, and Cleopatra Coleman.
Ratings have not been good for The Last Man on Earth during season three. Currently, the comedy is averaging a 0.91 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.16 million viewers — quite low for a primetime network series and a drop of 20% from season two.
Last month, creator and star Will Forte said he hopes there’s a fourth season because the season three finale will not offer closure:
We have left it in a place where, if for some reason we don’t get renewed, it will be the worst last episode of a show ever. It’s like the exact opposite of the Breaking Bad finale.”
On Twitter, Forte urged people to watch the series since it’s “on a serious bubble.’ As of now, FOX has not announced if the show will return for a fourth season or not:
…our show's on a serious bubble. So if you like it, please watch on tv tonite or DVR or https://t.co/ovQQwhLHa2 in the next 3 days. Thanx!
