Legacies: Season Two; CW’s Horror Series to Return Next Season

Legacies TV show on The CW: season 2 renewalCW viewers can continue following the story of Hope Mikaelson and her friends. The network has announced that the Legacies TV show has been renewed for a second season. It will be part of the 2019-20 broadcast season.

A The CW supernatural drama, Legacies is a sequel series to The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, starring Danielle Rose Russell, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, Quincy Fouse, Aria Shahghasemi, Peyton Alex Smith, and Matt Davis. The horror fantasy centers on Hope Mikaelson (Russell), daughter of the Original, Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan). Hope is now a student at The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, along with other unusual students, including Lizzie (Boyd) and Josie (Bryant), the twin daughters of Alaric Saltzman (Davis). Although they’re still in school, they have to keep their abilities and true natures a secret, while they rely on age-old lore to help them learn how to fight their enemies.

The first season of Legacies is averaging a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.08 million viewers. The show is connected to past CW series and is a middle-of-the-road performer ratings-wise so the renewal is no big shock.

Today, The CW also announced that nine other TV shows had been renewed for the 2019-20 season: Arrow, Black Lightning, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, RiverdaleSupergirl, and Supernatural. The fates of All American and Roswell, New Mexico have yet to be announced.

What do you think? Do you like the Legacies TV show on The CW? Are you glad that this series has been renewed for a second season?
