Lucifer: Resurrection Talks Happening at Amazon, Contract Deadline Looms

Lucifer TV show on FOX: season 2 (canceled or renewed?).

Is Lucifer being resurrected after all? Deadline reports Amazon is in talks to bring the cancelled FOX TV show back for a fourth season.

As reported earlier, FOX cancelled the drama after three seasons. The series stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, who relocates to Los Angeles and begins helping the police solve crimes. The cast also includes Kevin Alejandro, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling.

Speaking to Deadline, Amazon chief Jennifer Salke revealed the streaming service is discussing reviving Lucifer for another season:

We were talking about Lucifer. I know that international, especially the UK group, was really bullish on that show, I haven’t checked in on that today (Thursday), but I heard conversations were ongoing on that yesterday.”

Prime Video better act fast, though. Star Lauren German says the cast’s contracts expire as of June 16th, Comicbook.com reports:

“It’s beautiful. I can’t tell you guys how hard it is to hear that the show is ending and then she and I come out here and see all of you and then online the hashtags and the petitions being signed and the campaigns that are going. We don’t know that stuff’s gonna happen. It just pops up and it’s just, you know it’s heartwarming, it’s amazing and I don’t know if all of you know basically you know Fox has cancelled us, so we won’t be happening on Fox, but there’s a chance that a streaming network might pick us up and that would have to happen by June 16th. It’s like we can’t contractually audition for anything until June 16th and then, sadly, we are free to go after that. So, we’re just praying, praying it happens.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of Lucifer? Would you watch a new season on Amazon?
