FOX is sticking with Lucifer. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed the TV show for a third season.
Based on the DC Comics character, the drama follows Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) as he leaves his throne in Hell to live in Los Angeles. The cast also includes Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, Tricia Helfer, Rachael Harris, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia, and Scarlett Estevez.
Lucifer is currently in the middle of its second season on FOX. So far, the season is earning an average rating of 1.10 in the 18-49 demo and 3.825 million viewers. The numbers are considerably lower than season one’s average rating of 1.47 in the 18-49 demo and 4.56 million total viewers. However, despite the low ratings, the network seems to support the series and its creative team. FOX has ordered 22 episodes for season three.
Season two of Lucifer returns on May 1st.
