Married: Cancel or Keep the New FX Comedy?

Married TV show on FX: cancel or season 2?Tonight marks the season finale of FX comedy Married. Will this end up being the series finale as well or will there be a second season?

Married looks at a married couple who love one another but are ultimately feeling stuck and unhappy in their lives. A comedy, the series stars Nat Faxon, Judy Greer, Brett Gelman, and Jenny Slate.

The sitcom premiered in mid-July and attracted 1.1 million viewers with a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It wasn’t a great launch but it was certainly better than You’re the Worst, which debuted the same night.

The ratings have fallen quite a bit over the course of the season and hit a series low a couple weeks ago. Last week’s numbers rose up again but didn’t come close to matching the first episode’s.

While it’s not the worst-rated comedy on FX, Married’s numbers are quite poor. Based on the ratings, it seems likely that the cable channel will cancel this sitcom some time after tonight’s episode.

But, what do you think? Do you like the MarriedTV show on FX? If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew it for a second season?

UPDATE: Married has been renewed for a second season on FX. Details here.
