Married: Sitcom Cancelled by FX; No Season Three

Married TV show on FX: canceled, no season 3FX wants a divorce from their Married sitcom. The cable channel has cancelled the TV show after two low-rated seasons.

A single-camera comedy, Married looks at a married couple (Nat Faxon and Judy Greer) who’ve been married for years. Though the honeymoon is long over, they love each other very much — when they’re not fighting about paying the bills, child-rearing, and their declining sex life. The series also stars Brett Gelman, Sarah Burns, and Jenny Slate.

The series drew low ratings last year, averaging a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 680,000 viewers. The cable execs renewed the series renewed it for a second season anyway, believing in the creativity of the series, and hoped that the numbers would improve.

The ratings got a lot worse. Season two, which finished airing on October 1st, averaged a 0.19 rating with 410,000 viewers.

Andrew Gurland, the creator of the series, broke the news on Twitter.
