Marvel’s Agent Carter TV series is in danger of being cancelled by ABC. It was not one of 15 shows renewed by ABC on March 4, 2016. Agent Carter‘s big sister series, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was among the lucky and has been renewed for a fourth season, on the Alphabet Network.

In speaking to Agents of SHIELD show runners, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, about their series, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) asked if there is a place for Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter, on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. The duo did not rule it out.

From THR:

Looking ahead to next season, if Agent Carter doesn’t return for a third season, is there room for Agent Carter in the SHIELD universe, or would the time period discrepancy prove to be too much of an obstacle to make it work?

Tancharoen: There’s always that possibility.

Whedon: We are in an old SSR base, and Agent Carter founded SHIELD. There’s definitely a direct line between the two. We’re still very hopeful that it will return because we love it. We are linked to them through history so whether or not we’ll tell their stories remains to be seen.

There is still a chance Marvel’s Agent Carter could be renewed for a third season. Although the season two ratings were anemic, there is a rumor purportedly leaked by the studio, that ABC plans to renew the series. Check it out.

Here are all 15 shows ABC renewed last Friday: America’s Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Black-ishDancing with the Stars, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Shark Tank, and Quantico. Are your favorites included?

If ABC cancels Marvel’s Agent Carter TV show, how could Peggy be integrated into the modern-day setting of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD? If that doesn’t happen, should Netflix consider picking up Agent Carter? What do you want to see happen? Let us know, below.
