Has ABC already renewed Match Game? According to On Camera Audiences, the TV show will begin taping a third season this fall.
A reboot of the classic game show, the series is hosted by Alec Baldwin and features contestants trying to match the answers to “fill in the blank” questions with as many celebrities as they can. The grand prize is $25,000. Celebrity guests have included Jason Alexander, Cheryl Hines, Ice T, Ellie Kemper, Wayne Brady, Caroline Rhea, Amy Sedaris, Chris D’Elia, Constance Zimmer, and Jane Krakowski.
Recently, On Camera Audiences announced season three of Match Game will begin taping in New York City this October. Though ABC has not confirmed a renewal, it seems likely there will be another season of the game show.
Season two of Match Game, which ended in May, averaged a .85 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.351 million viewers. While that’s a near 20% drop in the ratings from last season, the series still seems to bring in a decent-sized audience.
