We saw this coming. The Minority Report TV show on FOX has been officially cancelled by the network, according to Deadline. Back in January, star Meagan Good moved on to the freshman CBS medical drama, Code Black.

Minority Report‘s first season order was originally for 13 episodes. By October, that had been cut to 10. The shortened season averaged 0.72 in the 18-49 year-old ratings demographic and drew an average total audience of 2.075 million viewers.

The Minority Report TV series is set in Washington D.C. in 2065, 11 years after the PreCrime unit disbanded. Homicide Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) joins forces with psychic Dash (Stark Sands), to prevent crime.

Back in November, Minority Report executive producer Max Borenstein still held hope that the series would be renewed for a second season. As previously reported though, he felt the audience would be satisfied by the unintentional series finale episode, “Everybody Runs,” which aired November 11, 2015.

Of the 21 scripted FOX shows we have been tracking during the 2015-16 television season, Minority Report was 19th when ranked by both total audience size and its 18-49 demo group rating average. The only scripted FOX series it outperformed in the demo were Houdini & Doyle (which just premiered May 2nd) and the last-place show Second Chance, which has also been officially cancelled by FOX.

The only scripted series Minority Report outperformed in terms of average total audience size were Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life and Bordertown, both of which have been cancelled, as well.

What do you think? Were you a fan of the Minority Report TV show on FOX? Should Minority Report have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Did you find the Minority Report TV series finale lent some closure to the series?
