Simon Rich’s cancelled TV series, Man Seeking Women never earned FXX big Nielsen ratings, but it did attract some loyal viewers. Now that he’s brought his Miracle Workers TV show to TBS — a more widely-viewed cable network — will Rich find an audience there, for his new series and its marquee-name stars? Will Miracle Workers be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A TBS anthology comedy, based on Rich’s book, What in God’s Name, Miracle Workers stars Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Jon Bass, Karan Soni, Sasha Compère, and Lolly Adefope. Tituss Burgess, Margaret Cho, Angela Kinsey, Tim Meadows, John Reynolds, and Chris Parnell guest star in the first season. The story centers on Craig (Radcliffe), a low-level tasked with managing of humanity’s prayers. Since God (Buscemi) would rather spend his times on hobbies and new projects, Craig works with another angel, Eliza (Viswanathan), to stave off Earth’s destruction by trying to answer a nearly unanswerable prayer — to help two humans fall in love.
