Nightflyers TV show on Syfy: season 1 ratings (canceled or renewed season 2?)

Although Syfy has added other genres to its repertoire of late, science-fiction is still is bread and butter. Since it cancelled The Expanse (which was later saved by Amazon), it was in need of another series set in space. Enter the Nightflyers TV show. Based on a novella and short stories collection from Game of Thrones‘ George R. R. Martin, does this new series have what it takes to score in the Nielsen ratings race? Will Nightflyers be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

A Syfy psychological thriller from showrunner Jeff Buhler, Nightflyers stars Gretchen Mol, Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phillip Rhys, Gwynne McElveen, Brían F. O’Byrne, Bronte Carmichael, and Miranda Raison. Set in 2093, the story centers on the passengers and crew of the advanced spacecraft, The Nightflyer, which embarks on a mission to make contact with a mysterious alien at the edge of our solar system, with the help of a lethal L-1 empath.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
