BBC Two has renewed the Peaky Blinders TV show for a fourth and fifth series (season). The Peaky Blinders TV series cast includes: Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, and Paul Anderson.

In the US, viewers can find this 1920s Birmingham England period drama on Netflix. The third season of Peaky Blinders dropped to the streaming platform on May 5th.

BBC Two has ordered a further two series of Steven Knight’s 1920s Birmingham-based series Peaky Blinders.

Charlotte Moore, Acting Director of Television, says: Charlotte Moore says: “Following BBC Drama’s tremendous start to the year, it is clear audiences are looking for even greater ambition and high quality. So I want to continue to expand our range even further and reaffirm my commitment to commission the very best drama in the UK.

“Today I’m announcing a mix of contemporary, provocative pieces and surprising stories, with three new titles and two returning series. […] Two of our best writers, Peter Bowker and Steven Knight, have been recommissioned. Family drama The A-Word will return, challenging perceptions of living with autism, and we’ve commissioned two more series of the mesmerising Peaky Blinders for BBC Two.”

BBC Two has ordered two more series (series four and five) of the epic 1920s Birmingham-based gangster show Peaky Blinders, created and written by Steven Knight. The series is produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Drama, and stars Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson.

Caryn Mandabach, Executive Producer, Caren Mandabach Productions says: “It’s a fantastic vote of confidence in the show and Steven Knight’s writing that the BBC has ordered two more series following the first episode overnight figures. We’re both proud of, and grateful for, the BBC’s continued support of the show.”

Will Gould, Executive Producer, Tiger Aspect Drama, says: “Peaky has become a global hit. Steve’s uncompromising vision resonates with audiences the world over, and what an absolute privilege it is that we get to make more.”

Creator Steven Knight, who will continue to write all episodes of the series, says: “I am genuinely thrilled at the response to the third series of the show. The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting. This is a real passion project for me, and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family.”

Cillian Murphy says:“Tommy Shelby is one of the most intense, challenging characters I’ve had the opportunity to play. I’m particularly grateful that Steven’s original, dynamic writing and the long form series allow me to explore Tommy in depth. I very much look forward to Tommy’s evolution over the next two chapters.”
