Even though its ratings fell some last year, the Ray Donovan TV show remained a top-three performer for Showtime. The sixth season dawns with Donovan having left L.A., to take a bite out of the Big Apple. This installment premiered in October though, rather than August. With such a late start, will the audience have been tempted to stray and find new programming? Will Ray Donovan be cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A Showtime crime drama, Ray Donovan stars Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight, Susan Sarandon, Domenick Lombardozzi, Lola Glaudini, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, Devon Bagby, and Graham Rogers. The series centers on professional fixer Ray Donovan (Schreiber), who’s now rebuilding his life in New York City. Mac (Lombardozzi), a cop, brings Ray into the Staten Island Police Department. While delving into that brotherhood and its corruption, Ray again winds up working for media mogul Samantha Winslow (Sarandon). Since Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Glaudini), that connection creates conflict for Ray with the Staten Island PD.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
