What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, Scandal revolves around former White House Communications Director, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington). Upon exiting her job at the White House, Olivia opened a premier crisis management firm. Now, Olivia Pope & Associates, White House staff members, and other politicos work to handle erupting political scandals. While adept at managing the crises of others, they struggle to contain those problems of their own making. The Scandal cast also includes Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina, Bellamy Young, Portia de Rossi, Joe Morton, Cornelius Smith Jr., and Tony Goldwyn.
Season Six Ratings
The sixth season of Scandal averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.60 million viewers. Compared to season five, that’s down by 31% in the demo and down by 22% in total viewers. Compare Scandal’s performance against the other ABC TV shows we’re tracking.
On February 10, 2017, ABC renewed Scandal for season seven.
It will be the final season.
Season seven will debut on October 5, 2017 at 9:00pm.

Telly’s Take
There’s been talk of Scandal possibly ending with season six but, like many, I was skeptical. The ratings are still quite good and it’s one of ABC’s top-rated shows. To no surprise, it has been renewed for season seven.
