In its first season, Ryan Phillippe’s Shooter TV show managed to beat out USA Network mainstay Suits in the 18-49 ratings demo, and overall, drew the second largest average total audience for the cable channel, so a renewal was a given. A USA action drama, Shooter stars Phillippe, Omar Epps, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Eddie McClintock, Beverly D’Angelo, Lexy Kolker, and Josh Stewart. Harry Hamlin, Patrick Sabongui, Troy Garity, and Jaina Lee recur in the second season.
Based on Stephen Hunter’s novel, Point of Impact, and the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film, Shooter, the thriller centers on expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe). Despite being retired and living in exile, Swagger is coaxed back into action for the most important mission of his lifetime. He soon finds himself the patsy in a massive conspiracy. Can he clear his name?
