What’s This TV Show About?
A USA Network action thriller, Shooter stars Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Eddie McClintock, Beverly D’Angelo, Lexy Kolker, and Josh Stewart. Harry Hamlin, Patrick Sabongui, Troy Garity, and Jaina Lee recur in season two.
Based on Stephen Hunter’s novel, Point of Impact, and the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film, Shooter, the thriller centers on expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe). Despite being retired and living in exile, Swagger is coaxed back into action for the most important mission of his lifetime. He soon finds himself the patsy in a massive conspiracy. Can he clear his name?
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Shooter is averaging a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.25 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% and down by 14%, respectively. Check out how Shooter stacks up against other USA Network TV shows.
On December 4, 2017, Shooter was renewed for a third season, which will debut on June 21, 2018 at 10:00pm. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
I think this show is safe and will be renewed for a third season. Despite a significant decline in the ratings, Shooter is still one of USA’s higher rated series.
