Supergirl: Move to CW to Ensure Season Three and More

Supergirl TV show on CBS (canceled or renewed?)

Supergirl is moving to CW with its second season, and that move could be a great thing for the series. In fact, the move to CW could ensure the future of the series for than just season two.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Roth from Warner Bros. Television, said the following about the move of the series:

“The move of Supergirl from CBS to The CW is an outstanding shift in every regard. The show’s content is more appropriately positioned on The CW, and I believe it’ll ensure an arguably longer run on the network. I think the sensibility of the show is better for our producers and what it is that they want to accomplish, and CBS was very good to us in enabling it to happen.”

Supergirl will retain is Monday night time slot in the fall, and that will put it up against The Big Bang Theory on CBS. However, it does appear CW is looking at the bigger picture with Supergirl. A big crossover event featuring all four DC Universe shows on the network is planned for December.
