Supernatural has always had a rock ‘n’ roll soul, but when season 12 premieres Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 9:00pm ET/PT, The CW drama will pump up the volume in a whole new way. A Different World vet, Kadeem Hardison will guest star as Russell Lemmons (think Def Jam founder/Rev Run‘s brother, Russell Simmons). Hardison played Paz on Cult, which was cancelled by The CW after one season, in 2013.

EW reports Hardison’s character is a music business mogul who has a past with Crowley (Mark Sheppard). Perhaps a crossroads deal is the secret to Lemmons’ success? Crowley will be teaming up with Castiel (Misha Collins), to hunt down Lucifer, who has is squatting in the meat-suit of rocker Vince Vincente, played by none other than Rick Springfield.

According to the report, Lemmons has “big plans” for Vincente. Hopefully, Lemmons won’t be dragged off to points South by Crowley’s pack of “puppies,” before realizing his next goal. Of course, having watched the first 11 seasons of Supernatural, we realize that hope is likely in vain.

EW says while Castiel’s motive for hunting Lucifer is revenge, “Crowley wants nothing more than to take back his throne.” Of course he does.

Hardison currently co-stars as Craig Cooper on KC Undercover, which was recently renewed for a third season on Disney Channel.
