It looks like The Conners will be back for one more season. Per Deadline, the ABC comedy is likely to return for an abbreviated seventh and final season for 2024-25, but the exact details for the renewal are still being worked out.
Stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, and Lecy Goranson are all expected to return for the final season of the comedy, which is a spin-off of Roseanne. The series follows Dan Conner and his family as they deal with the ups and downs of their lives in Lanford, Illinois.
According to executive producer and showrunner Bruce Helford, Gilbert, who was instrumental in getting the spin-off off the ground, had requested the network give the cast and crew enough advance notice so the writers could build to a proper ending.
If the show isn’t renewed for some reason, Helford says that a special scene has been filmed which could turn the May 22nd season finale into a series finale and give fans of The Conners some closure.
