Sue Heck may be flying solo. TVLine reports ABC has ordered a pilot for a possible spin-off to The Middle.
The sitcom, which centered on a middle-class family living in Indiana, just wrapped its ninth and final season in May. The cast included Eden Sher, Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, and Atticus Shaffer.
ABC‘s spin-off pilot will follow Sue (Sher) as she leaves “Indiana to pursue a career — and young adulthood — in Chicago.” The Middle creators Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline are writing the pilot.
