After 16 seasons, coach Adam Levine has left The Voice on NBC. It’s been a very successful series for the peacock network but the ratings have significantly declined over the years. Will they see a bigger-than-usual drop this time around now that Levine’s gone or, could they possibly rise? Will The Voice be cancelled or renewed for season 18? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
The Voice TV show is a singing competition that’s hosted by Carson Daly. It typically airs twice weekly on NBC — on Monday and Tuesday nights. Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton return to coach in season 17. This season’s battle advisors are Normani (Team Kelly), Will.i.am (Team Gwen), Usher (Team Legend), and Darius Rucker (Team Blake). The competition is divided into five stages: blind auditions, battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs, and live performances.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The Monday editions of the 15th season (Fall 2018) of The Voice on NBC averaged a 1.72 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.25 million viewers. The Tuesday editions averaged a 1.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.11 million viewers.

The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
