How meaty is the mystery during the third season of the True Detective TV show on HBO? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like True Detective is cancelled or renewed for season four. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. A neo-noir HBO crime anthology drama, the third season of True Detective stars Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo, Stephen Dorff, Ray Fisher, Scoot McNairy, and Mamie Gummer. This installment centers on a gruesome crime in the Ozarks. The mystery grows deeper as the years pass, and the season is set across three time periods. The cast in the first two seasons included Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan, Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Taylor Kitsch.
