It’s a big week for singing shows. Variety reports NBC has renewed The Voice for a 14th season with new coach Kelly Clarkson.

Just earlier today, we reported that ABC wants Clarkson to be a judge on their upcoming reboot of American Idol. Clarkson won season one of the singing competition series in 2002 and appeared as a guest judge on its 15th and final season on FOX last year.

Clarkson will join returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on season 14 of The Voice. NBC has not yet announced a fourth coach, but the 14th season is expected to air in spring 2018. The network has already announced the coaches for fall’s season 13.

From Clarkson:

I’m so excited to join ‘The Voice’ at NBC. We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now. I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special. I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry. Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!!”

What do you think? Do you watch The Voice? Are you excited to see Clarkson as a coach?
