The Voice: Season 15 Ratings (Fall 2018)

The Voice TV show on NBC: season 15 ratings (canceled or renewed season 16?)

Going into its 15th season, The Voice TV show is still one of NBC’s best Nielsen ratings performers, so while its numbers have slipped some over the years, and a 16th season renewal hasn’t been officially announced, it is unlikely to be cancelled too soon. NBC has already revealed John Legend will join as a coach in the Spring of 2019. Still, as series start to show their age, new competition arises, and the price of the program increases, networks often start thinking about putting their older shows on ice for a while, or at least retooling them, like The Voice is doing with its Comeback Stage web companion series. Will that reinvigorate the competition, during the Fall 2018 cycle? While you shouldn’t have to worry whether it’s cancelled or renewed this time around, stay tuned to find out if it’s growing stronger or tapering off.

Hosted by Carson Daly, The Voice TV show is singing competition. It typically airs twice weekly on NBC — on Monday and Tuesday nights. Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton return to coach in season 15. Advisors this time out include: Thomas Rhett (Team Clarkson), Halsey (Team Hudson), Ceelo Green (Team Levine), and Keith Urban (Team Shelton). The competition is divided into five stages: blind auditions, battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs, and live performances.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

12/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.

For comparisons: The Monday editions of the Fall 2017 cycle averaged a 2.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.147 million total viewers. The Tuesday editions of the Fall 2017 cycle averaged a 1.99 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.00 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
